| Today, in our Forum Auditorium, Dr. Jason Sperb of the Michigan State University Film Studies Program screens and discusses rarely seen World War II-era Disney animation. As the war escalated in Europe and the Pacific, the Walt Disney Company began creating short films in support of the American war effort. While familiar characters like Donald Duck encouraged Americans to pay their income taxes and the Seven Dwarfs promoted the sale of war bonds, Disney also produced instructional films for soldiers on how to fire anti-tank guns.
This program is included free with museum admission. For more information about today's event, please send us an e-mail or telephone (517) 373-3559.
